RIP: Audio Engineer Bob Shindle has Died

Shindle passed away Jan. 17, 2023. He was 68.

Accomplished audio engineer Bob Shindle has passed away. Shindle died peacefully on Jan. 17, 2023 at Toronto's Princess Margaret Cancer Centre after a courageous battle with cancer.

Shindle is dearly missed by his partner and best friend, Birgit Roth-Shindle, and his children, Rachael (Simone Bozzetto) and Jason Shindle. He is survived by his brothers, Bill (Glenda) and Don (Peta), nieces and nephews, Kristine, Steve, Collin, Carly, Stefan (Keira), Ellen, and Lily, as well as cousin Colleen (Grant), and mother-in-law Mary Moffatt. Shindle is predeceased by his parents, William Sr. and Lily.

Shindle's passion was sound engineering, and during a long and successful career, he worked with many renowned acts including Kim Mitchell, Jeff Healey, Tom Cochrane and Red Rider, and Colin James. Shindle also lent his talents to musicals such as Joseph and The Techni-coloured Dreamcoat, Mamma Mia, and The Who’s: Tommy.

Shindle's family has asked those who wish to make a donations to give to Princess Margaret Hospital, in honour of Shindle, saying "the doctors, nurses and support staff were so incredibly kind to him throughout his stay and treated him with nothing but the dignity and love that he deserved."
